形態特徵

• Perennial herbs. Stems erect, 15–70 cm tall, often branched apically, sparsely puberulent on upper parts, later glabrous.
• Leaves alternate, elliptic to lanceolate, apex acute, base attenuate to winged petiole, 5–17×2–3 cm, minutely toothed or subentire, glabrous; petiole of lower leaves often longer, petiole of basal leaves equal to blade in length or often longer; basal leaves usually larger than cauline ones, sometimes withered at anthesis; upper leaves gradually smaller.
• Heads short pedunculate, in loose to dense, long or short terminal panicles or sometimes racemes. Involucre campanulate, 5–7.2 mm long, 5–7.5 mm across, bracts in 3 or 4 series, oblong to lanceolate, acute or obtuse, outer bracts 1–2 mm long, inner bracts 4–5 mm long. Ray florets: ligules 4–7 mm×1–2 mm, tube 1.5–2 mm long. Disc florets salverform, 3.5–5 mm long, 5-lobed.
• Achenes cylindric, 2–3 mm long, glabrous or scattered pilose, dark brown. Pappus white, capillary, bristles unequal, 2.5–5 mm long, persistent.
• This species in very common in the mountains of Taiwan, but also occurs disjunctly on coastal hills in the north. It is difficult to distinguish between plants from the coastal hills and high mountains using morphological characters, but plants of the coastal regions tend to have larger heads (5.5–8.5 mm across, excluding the ligules), and the achenes are more or less pubescent. • 台灣 : common on open grassy slopes or meadows from median to high alpine regions, 1,500–3,500 m; some populations on coastal hills of northern Taiwan.
• 世界 : Eastern Asia.
